Garmay Leung

Garmay LeungI am a graduate student in the UCSF / UC Berkeley Joint Graduate Group in Bioengineering studying the identification and evolution of regulatory sequences. Despite a rapidly growing number of sequenced genomes, our ability to identify regulatory sequences remains limited, and often requires prior knowledge about which transcription factors are necessary to regulate a given gene. I am developing methods to discover regulatory sequences with minimal prior knowledge and to uncover patterns of evolution specific to regulatory sequences.
