Welcome to the Eisen Lab

We apply a diverse array of approaches drawn from evolutionary and computational genomics, imaging, neuroscience, developmental biology, biochemistry and genetics to the vinegar fly Drosophila melanogaster and its relatives to understand how animal embryos develop and how microorganisms manipulate animal behavior.

Our home is in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at The University of California, Berkeley, and we a part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. We are also affiliated with the Department of Integrative Biology, the Museum of Comparative Zoology, and the California Institute for Quantiative Biosciences.
